In the case of plants, the sporogenic tissue is called Archespor, that is, those cells in the interior of a sporangium in mosses, ferns and seed plants, which later develop into spore-nut cells. The cells of the archespor are recognizable early due to their plasma light. In foliage, the Archespor is a cylindrical layer formed by the outermost layer of the endothecium. The Archespor can also occupy the whole interior of a sporangium, the Archespor can be a cell row or - in the case of the seed plants - only one cell. In the pollen-bags of the stamens of the seed-plants, the archespor cells can already be seen early in ontogeny in the four corners of the stamens of the stamens: they are large, the cytoplasm is denser than in the surrounding cells, and the nuclei are larger. They are arranged in elongated, often crescent-shaped or plate-shaped rows. In the primordial plant, several hypodermal cells become archespor: they become larger, the nuclei become larger, and the cytoplasm becomes denser.
