Clerihew

Clerihew

A Clerihew is a short joking pseudobiographical four-line, a poem form invented by Edmund Clerihew Bentley. It consists of two pairs of rhymes with uneven length and more or less free rhythm. The name of the historical person is usually at the end of the first or second verse line. The Clerihew is rather quaint and quirky than satirical. The lines are strangely irregular.
