WHAT DOES DEEMPHASIS MEAN IN GERMAN?

Pre-Emphasis

The preemphase and deemphase, Preemphasis and deemphasis, means increasing the high frequencies and lowering the low frequencies during recording or transmission, which is then reversed during playback or reception, so that a true transmission is carried out as a whole. This approach reduces the noise that occurs at high frequencies. The RIAA playback characteristic as a de-emphasis for vinyl records as a counterpart to the cutting characteristic The emphase method is used in radio transmission, in the case of tape transfer, in the case of many early CDs of the 1980s and singly in digital transmission. In this case, standards with corresponding time constants must be available for this pre- and reverse-equalization. The associated transient or limiting frequencies can be calculated therefrom.
