Exenteration

Exenteration or Evisceration are the medical terms for the removal of intestines, the so-called "evisceration". Both terms can be used synonymously. The exenteration or evisceratio pelvis is the extensive or complete removal of the organs of the small pelvis, ie of the bladder, the vagina, the vaginal atrium, and possibly also the rectum, in vaginal or cervical carcinoma. Exenteration oculi, or exenteratio bulbi, is called the removal of the eyeball in the ophthalmology, the exenteration orbitae is the clearing of the orbital cavity. The Evisceration was also a kind of execution. For this, see Drying.
