Flogging, also flagellation or flagellation is the infliction of physical pain by beating with different whips, rods or a cane. Flagellation has been or has been practiced both in the context of religion, as punishment, and as a mode of sexuality. Das Auspeitschen, auch Flagellation oder Geißelung ist das Zufügen körperlicher Schmerzen durch Schläge mit verschiedenen Peitschen, Ruten oder einem Rohrstock. Praktiziert wird bzw. wurde die Flagellation sowohl im Kontext der Religion, als Strafe sowie als Spielart der Sexualität.
