Homorhizy is understood in botany as a type of rootedness, which is opposed to allorhizia. The root system consists only of morphologically equivalent roots and originates from sprout-bearing roots. Two types of homorhynia are distinguished: ▪ Primary homorhyny: Rooting type of the vascular pore plants, such as ferns, in which all roots can be regarded as sprout-bearing and thus no main root can be identified. ▪ Secondary homorhyny: Rooting type of the monocots and single dicotyledons, in which all roots can be regarded as sprout-bearing, in which the main or germinal root in early ontogenesis dies at an early stage. The term is composed of the prefix homós "equal" and rhizoma "rooted".

Unter Homorhizie versteht man in der Botanik einen Bewurzelungstyp, der der Allorhizie gegenübersteht. Das Wurzelsystem besteht nur aus morphologisch gleichwertigen Wurzeln und entsteht aus sprossbürtigen Wurzeln. Es werden zwei Typen von Homorhizie unterschieden: ▪ Primäre Homorhizie: Bewurzelungstyp der Gefäßsporenpflanzen wie etwa Farne, bei dem alle Wurzeln als sprossbürtig angesehen werden können und somit keine Hauptwurzel identifizierbar ist. ▪ Sekundäre Homorhizie: Bewurzelungstyp der Monokotylen und einzelner Dikotylen, bei dem alle Wurzeln als sprossbürtig angesehen werden können, bei dem die Haupt- oder Keimwurzel in der Ontogenese jedoch frühzeitig abstirbt. Der Begriff setzt sich zusammen aus der Vorsilbe homós „gleich“ und rhizoma „Eingewurzeltes“.
