The Amict (from lat. Amictus "Umur, Mantel"), also called Humerale (from lat. (H) umerus "shoulder") is a rectangular cloth of white linen, the Catholic priest and deacon traditionally at the Mass Of the albe; It is to be worn if the alve is not well closed. It is mostly adorned with a cross embroidered, wrapped around the neck and shoulders and tied with ribbons in front of the chest to prevent slipping. Es ist meist mit einem eingestickten Kreuz geschmückt, umhüllt Hals und Schultern und wird mit Bändern vor der Brust gebunden, um ein Verrutschen zu verhindern. Die Allgemeine Einführung ins Messbuch sieht unter Nr. 81 c vor, dass alle, die eine Albe tragen, auch Schultertuch und Zingulum verwenden können; der Gebrauch eines Schultertuches ist also zumindest theoretisch nicht auf den Klerus beschränkt. Diakone einer Ordensgemeinschaft mit Amikt über der Kapuze des Habits Die weiße Farbe des Schultertuches verweist zusammen mit der Albe auf die Taufe. Es wird liturgisch-spirituell gedeutet auf den besonderen Schutz durch Gottes Gnade, die sich wie ein leuchtender Schatten über den Christen legt.
