Imbibition

Imbibition is a term used in medicine and refers to the impregnation of tissues with fluids. Occasionally, there is also talk of imbibition or inbibation. This fluid intake can, Eg in the context of inflammation. For example, in the case of cerebral infarctions in which secondary blood has transcended, one speaks of a "bloody imbibation". In general, in computer tomography, imbibition expresses image-morphologically by fuzzy streaky densities in otherwise homogeneous-hypodense tissues. In the case of bloody imbibulations, the densities are correspondingly hyperdenseric. In the case of skin transplants, the plasmatic imbibition ensures the nutrition of the transplant in the first days.
