mambo
Mambo refers to a kind of music that developed in Cuba after 1930 and the accompanying dance, which developed parallel to the music. The term Mambo used for the first time 1938 Orestes López as title of a piece. Originally, the presumably Creole word meant a "religious conversation" or a sacred act. It comes from the African-influenced Cuba.
