WHAT DOES PYROPHYT MEAN IN GERMAN?

pyrophyt

Pyrophytes are plants which are adapted to the influence of fire or are aided by fire - directly or indirectly. In some very hot and dry regions, they form so-called fire ecosystems. Among the pyrophytes are some trees, which protect themselves by a thick bark against the effect of the fire. Plants can also be found, whose upper parts burn away, but which can turn back from subterranean organs, or herbaceous plants, the seeds of which are deposited in the soil, and after the first rainfall they shoot out, blossom, and die again. Some plants are even favored by fires, or are required for certain developmental phases, such as the formation of seeds or the spread of semen. Examples of pyrophytes are: ▪ the Australian grass tree Australia, ▪ the cork oak, ▪ the rotary pine, ▪ the species belonging to the family of the silver tree family Banksia, ▪ the sugar bushes, ▪ the mammoth tree North America. ▪ Lilium pyrophilum ▪ the Venus fly trap ▪ the rainbow plants ▪ the grass trees ...
