The first definition of blanch in the dictionary is to remove colour from, or to be removed; whiten; fade. Other definition of blanch is to become or cause to become pale, as with sickness or fear. Blanch is also to plunge tomatoes, nuts, etc, into boiling water to loosen the skin.
