Magneto has a whole lot of complexity to him. Emotionally, he's coming from a very damaged place. I like the ambivalence of it. I want the audience leaving the theater wondering, asking the questions themselves rather than being spoon-fed like a lot of these super-villain characters.

WHAT DOES MAGNETO MEAN IN ENGLISH?

magneto

Magneto

A magneto is an electrical generator that uses permanent magnets to produce periodic pulses of alternating current. Hand-cranked magneto generators were used to provide ringing current in early telephone systems. Magnetos adapted to produce pulses of high voltage are used in the ignition systems of some gasoline-powered internal combustion engines to provide power to the spark plugs. Use of magnetos for ignition is now limited mainly to the following kinds of engines: ▪ Engines where there is no low-voltage electrical system available, such as lawnmowers and chainsaws. ▪ Aircraft engines, where keeping the ignition independent of the rest of the electrical system ensures that the engine will keep running in the event of alternator or battery failure. For redundancy purposes, virtually all piston engine aircraft are fitted with two magneto systems, each supplying power to one of two spark plugs in each cylinder. Magnetoes were used for specialized isolated power systems such as arc lamp systems or lighthouses, where their simplicity was an advantage. Generators connected to an electrical grid for central station power generation do not use the magneto principle.

Definition of magneto in the English dictionary

The definition of magneto in the dictionary is a small electric generator in which the magnetic field is produced by a permanent magnet, esp one for providing the spark in an internal-combustion engine.
