WHAT DOES POLYPHOSPHORIC ACID MEAN IN ENGLISH?

Phosphoric acids and phosphates

There are various kinds of phosphoric acids and phosphates. Of the many phosphorus oxoacids, the phosphoric acids constitute the largest and most diverse group. The simplest phosphoric acid series begins with monophosphoric acid, continues with many oligophosphoric acids such as diphosphoric acid and concludes in the polyphosphoric acids. But, phosphoric acid units can bind together into rings or cyclic structures, chains, or branched structures, with various combinations possible. Each of these can form phosphates.

Definition of polyphosphoric acid in the English dictionary

The definition of polyphosphoric acid in the dictionary is any one of a series of oxyacids of phosphorus with the general formula Hn+2P nO3n+1. The first member is pyrophosphoric acid and the series includes the highly polymeric metaphosphoric acid. The higher acids exist in an equilibrium mixture. Other definition of polyphosphoric acid is a glassy or liquid mixture of orthophosphoric and polyphosphoric acids: used industrially as a dehydrating agent, catalyst, and oxidizing agent.
