leaf shape is characterised with the following terms (botanical Latin terms in brackets): ▪ Acicular (
acicularis): Slender and pointed, needle-like ▪ Acuminate (
acuminata): Tapering to a long point ▪ Acute: pointed, having a short sharp apex angled less than 90° ▪ Aristate (
