Calahorra is a municipality and Spanish city of the autonomous community of La Rioja, pertaining to the region of the Low Rioja. It has 24,897 inhabitants, according to INE data for 2012, an area of 91.41 km² and a population density of 264.9 hab./km². It has the titles of Very Noble, Very Loyal and Faithful City. From the IV-V centuries, it is the seat of the diocese of the same name, which in times past reached the Cantabrian. It is the second city of the autonomous community of La Rioja in importance and population after the capital, Logroño. Capital of the region of the Rioja Baja, stands out for its agricultural production and its antiquity. It was important Roman city, Calagurris Nassica Iulia, with mint that maintained until Average Age. Es la segunda ciudad de la comunidad autónoma de La Rioja en importancia y población tras la capital, Logroño. Capital de la comarca de la Rioja Baja, destaca por su producción agrícola y su antigüedad. Fue importante ciudad romana, la Calagurris Nassica Iulia, con ceca que mantuvo hasta la Edad Media. Calahorra, además, es cuna del gran maestro en oratoria Marco Fabio Quintiliano, autor de varios textos y maestro en la corte romana. En su honor se erige una estatua frente al Ayuntamiento.
