कविता में साद्दश्य दिखलाने के लिये होता है ।
मुहा०—ज्यों त्यों = (१) किसी न किसी प्रकार । किसी ढंग
से । झंझट और बखेड़े के साथ । (२) अरुचि के साथ । अच्छी
तरह नहीं । ज्यों त्यों करके = (१) किसी न किसी प्रकार ।
किसी ढंग से । किसी उपाय से । जिस प्रकार हो सके उस
प्रकार । जैसे,—ज्यो त्यों करके उसे हमारे पास ले आओ ।
(२) झंझट और बखेड़े के साथ । दिक्कत के साथ । कठिनाई के साथ । जैसे,—रास्ते में बड़ी गहरी आँधी आई, ज्यों त्यों
करके घर पहुँचे । ज्यों का त्यों = (१) जैते का तैसा । उसी
रूप रंग का । तद्रूप । सदृश । (२) जैसा पहले था वैसा ही ।
जिसमें कुछ फेर या घटती बढ़ती न हुई हो । जिसके साथ
कुछ क्रिया न की गई हो । जैसे,—सब काम ज्यों का त्यों पड़ा
है कुछ भी नहीं हुआ है ।
विशेष—वाक्य का संबंध पूरा करने के लिये इस शब्द के साथ
'त्यों' का प्रयोग होता है पर गद्य में प्रायः नहीं होता ।
२. जिस क्षण । जैसे ही । जैसे,—(क) ज्यों मैं आया कि पानी
बरसने लगा । (ख) ज्यों ही मै पहुँचा, वह उठकर चला
गया ।
विशेष—इस अर्थ में इसका प्रयोग 'ही' के साथ अधिक होता है ।
मुहा०—ज्यों ज्यों = जिस क्रम से । जिस मात्रा से । जितना ।
उ०—जमुना ज्यों ज्यों लागी बाढ़न । त्यों त्यों सुकृत सुभट
कलि रपहि निदरि लगे वहि काढ़न ।—तुलसी (शब्द०) ।
