कर्तव्य समझा है और उसके भिन्न भिन्न साधन बतलाए हैं ।
सांख्य शास्त्र में— त्रिबिध दुःखों की अत्यत निवृत्ति को कैवल्य
माना है और विवेक को उसका एकमात्र साधन बतलाया है ।
योगशास्त्र में विशेषदर्शी आत्मभाव की भावना अर्थात् अहंकार की निवृत्ति को कैवल्य बतलाया है और चित्र की वृत्तियो के
निरोध को ही उसका साधन कहा है । वेदांत में अद्वितिय
ब्रह्मभाव की प्राप्ति को कैवल्य माना है और अविद्या की
निरोध को इसका साधन ठहराया है । न्याय में दुःख की
अत्यंत विमुक्ति को कैवल्य या अपर्वग कहा और उसका
साधन प्रमादि षोडश पदार्थों का तत्वज्ञान बतलाया है ।
