विशेष-यह अन्न वहुत सस्ता होता है और प्रायःसारे भारत

रूखा, कफ-पित्त-नाशक , रुचिकारक , मलरोधक, शीतल,
रक्तशोधक और पौष्टिक कहा गया है; और यह शूल, सूजन,
दाह, बवासीर, ह्वदरोग और खंज उत्पन्न करनेवाली कही
गई है । इसके पत्तों का साग भी बनता है, जो वैद्यक के
अनुसार बादी , रुचिकारी और कफ-पित्त-नाशक होता है ।
