१. एक बड़ा पेड़
जिसके फूल और छाल दवा के काम आते हैं । हरिवल्लभ ।
दीर्घपुष्प ।
विशेष—इसके पत्तो फालसे के पत्तों के आकार के और बड़े बड़े
होते हैं । पत्तों में महीन महीन रोई होती हैं जिससे वे छूने
में खुरदरे लगते हैं । फूल में पाँच छह अंगुल लंबे और एक
अंगुल के लगभग चौड़े सफेद दल होते हैं । दलों मध्य से
सूत के समान कई केसर निकले होते हैं । दलों के नीचे का
कोश भई बहुत लंबा होता है । फूल को सुगंध बहुत ही मीठी
और मनोहर होती है । ये फूल सिर के दर्द में बहुत लाभकारी
होती हैं । इसके फल कटहल के प्रारंभिक फलों के समान लंबे
लंबे और पत्थर की तरह कड़े होते हैं । इसके फूल और छाल
औषध के काम में आती है । वैद्यक में यह चरपरा, गरम,
कड़ुवा, स्वर को मधुर करनेवाला तथा कफ, खाँसी, त्वचा के विकार, सूजन, सिर का दर्द, त्रदोष, रत्कपित्त और रुधिर-
विकार को दूर करनेवाला माना गया है ।
