जाने में सातो स्वरों का आरोह अवरोह । उ०—(क) सूर नाद
ग्राम नूत्यति मानि । मुख वर्ग विविध आलाप काल । बहु कला
जाति मूर्च्छना मानि । बढ़ भाग गमक गुन चलत जानि ।—केशव (शब्द०) । (ख) सुर मूर्च्छना ग्राम लै ताला । गावत
कृष्णचरित सब ग्वाला ।—रघुराज (शब्द०) ।
विशेष—ग्राम के सातवें भाग का नाम मूर्च्छना है । भरत के मत
से गाते समय गले को कँपाने से ही मूर्च्छना होती है; और
किसी किसी का मत मत है कि स्वर के सूक्ष्म विराम को ही मूर्च्छना
कहते हैं । तीन ग्राम होने के कारण २१ मूर्च्छनाएँ होती हैं
जिनका व्योरा इस प्रकार है—
पडज ग्राम की मध्मम ग्राम की गांधार ग्राम की
ललिता पंचमा रौद्री
मध्ममा मत्सरी ब्राह्मी
चित्रा मृदुमध्या वैष्णवी
रोहिणी शुद्धा खेदरी
मतंगजा अंता सुरा
सौवीरी कलावती नादावती
षड़मध्या तीब्रा विशाल
