और प्रतापी बादशाह ।
विशेष— यह सन् ५३१ ई० में अपने पिता कुबाद के मरने पर
सिंहासन पर बैठा । रोमन लोगों को इसने युद्ध में कई बार
परास्त किया । मुसलमान लेखकों ने तो लिखा है कि इसने
रोम के बादशाह को कैद किया था । रोंम का सम्राट् उस
समय जस्टिनियन था । नौशेरवाँ की अंटियोकस पर विजय,
शाम देश तथा भूमध्य सागर के अनेक स्थानों पर अधिकार
तथा साइबेरिया, यूक्साइन आदि प्रेदशों पर आक्रमण रोम के इतिहास में भी प्रसिद्ध है । रोम का बादशाह जस्टिनियन
पारस्य साम्राज्य के अधीन होकर प्रतिवर्ष तीस हजार
अशरिफियाँ कर देता था । ८० वर्ष की बृद्धावस्था में नौशेरवाँ
ने रोम राज्य के विरुद्ध चढाई की थी और दारा तथा शाम
आदि देशों को अधिकृत किया था । ४८ वर्ष राज्य करके
वह प्रतापी और न्यायी बादशाह परलोक सिधारा ।
फारसी किताबों में नौशेरवाँ के न्याय के बहुत सी कथाएँ हैं ।
ध्यान रखना चाहिए कि इसी बादशाह के समय में मुसलमानों के पैगंबर मुहम्मद साहब का जन्म हुआ जिनेक मत के प्रभाव
से आगे चलकर पारस की आर्य सभ्यता का लोप हुआ ।
