वसुदेव था, इससे यह अपने को वासुदेव कहता था । राजसूय
यज्ञ के समय भीम ने इसे हराया था । श्रीकृष्ण के समान यह
भी अपना रूप बनाया रहता था । नारद के द्वारा श्रीकृष्ण की महिमा सुनकर यह बहुत क्रुद्ध हुआ और कहने लगा,
मेरे अतिरिक्त और दूसरा वासुदेव है कौन । इसने एकलव्य
आदि वीरों को लेकर द्वारका पर चढ़ाई की पर कृष्ण के
हाथ से मारा गया ।
