से काटा या खुरचा जा सकता है, पर १०८ मात्रा का ताप
पाकर यह पिघलने लगता है और ५५० मात्रा के ताप में
भाप बनकर उड़ जाता है । यह बहुत सी धातुओं के साथ
मिल जाता है और उनका रूपांतर करता है । इसे तेल या
चरबी में घोलने पर ऐसा तेल तैयार हो जाता है जो अँधेरे में
चमकता है । दियासलाई बनाने में इसका बहुत प्रयोग होता है । और भी कई चीजें बनाने में यह काम आता है । औषध के रूप में भी यह बहुत दिया जाता है क्योंकि डाक्टर लोग
