Definition of सोडहम् in the Hindi dictionary
Saham post [no. E. Eh] That is what I am-that is, I am Brahman. Special-Vedanta is the principle that Jiva and Brahma are the same; There is no one in both. Jiva is nothing but Brahma itself. Vedanti people said to represent this principle Do-sohm; That is, I am the same Spirit. Also in the Upanishads This is said in the form of 'ego brahamasmi' and 'tantamasi'. सोडहम् पद [सं० सः + अहम्]
वही मैं हूँ—अर्थात् मैं ब्रह्म हूँ ।
विशेष—वेदांत का सिद्धांत है कि जीव और ब्रह्मा एक ही हैं;
दोनों में कोई अंदर नहीं है । जीव और कुछ नहीं, ब्रह्म ही है ।
इसी सिद्धांत का प्रतिपादन करने के लिये वेदांती लोग कहा
करते है—सोहम्; अर्थात् मैं वही ब्रह्म हूँ । उपनिषदों में भी
यह बात 'अहं ब्रह्मास्मि' और 'तत्वमसि' रुप में कही गई है ।
