With the term phaeton, borrowed from the Greek myth of Fetonte, it is a type of bodywork often used in the cars of the beginning of the twentieth century. A 1910 Peugeot Type 125, a two-door phaeton body and two-seat body Originally designed for four-wheeled and two-horse carriages, this name, dropped shortly after World War II, with the birth of the modern car, was used to indicate a type of open body used in the first twenty years of the twentieth century. Con il termine phaeton, mutuato dal mito greco di Fetonte, si intende un tipo di carrozzeria utilizzata spesso nelle vetture d'inizio Novecento. A seconda dell'una o dell'altra configurazione, comunque, si poteva parlare di single phaeton o di double phaeton, ma esistevano anche alcuni modelli carrozzati come triple phaeton.
