WHAT DOES ZINGANO MEAN IN ITALIAN?
Gypsies
Gypsies, Gypsies, Gypsies or Gypsies are generic terms used to denote a group of different ethnic groups, principally considered traditionally devoted to nomadism, originating in Northern India and commonly associated, at least in the past, with the use of a common idiom, Romani. Stabilizers in Europe during the medieval and diffusing times, more recently in other continents, the gipsy populations are largely stationary and generally have the citizenship of the country they reside. Because of the negative connotation that the word Gypsies has long assumed, it is politically incorrect to define them with this term and therefore mistakenly called nomads or more properly, using the name of the main ethnic, Roma or Sinti or, in a totally wrong, Romanian or slave because of the citizenship of many of them. In fact, there is no connection - not even etymological - between the term "rom" and the name of the state of Romania, the Romanian people or language, or the slave populations, as the gipsy ethnicities are recaptured to an Indian origin .
Definition of zingano in the Italian dictionary
The first definition of a gypsy in the dictionary belongs to a nomadic people originating in north-western India, which has spread throughout the centuries in many Asian countries, Europe, Egypt and other places in Mediterranean Africa, characterized by somatic features such as the colorful brown-olive and the hair and eyes particularly dark, and rich cultural traditions, which are expressed mainly in music and dance: a caravan of gypsies; the gypsy camp. Another definition of Gypsy is a very untidy and filthy person: he looks like a gypsy; she is dressed like a gypsy. Zingano is also a gypsy.
