Albury (New Zealand)
Albury (UK: Albury) is a small village in the South Canterbury district of New Zealand's South Island. Located inland from Timaru and situated on State Highway 8 between Pleasant Point and Fairy. Albury is located in the rural agricultural zone, serving as a temporary termination station of the branch rail line which becomes the Fairy branch line for more than six years in the 19th century. The railroad opened on January 1, 1877, the extension to Winscombe across the town opened on August 24, 1883. The Fairy branch was closed on March 2, 1968, but some configuration of tracks can still be seen around Albury. ...
