Kainji dam - A dam built in the Niger River in the western part of Nigeria. It was completed in 1968. It is a multipurpose dam with a height of 66 meters and a length of the top of the bank with a length of 8300 meters, generating up to 9.6 million kilowatts of electricity. Wild animals such as hippopotamus, hyena, warthogs, etc. are inhabited in the lake Kainji which is an artificial lake and its surroundings, and it is designated as a national park. カインジ‐ダム【Kainji dam】 ナイジェリア西部、ニジェール川に造られたダム。1968年に完成。高さ66メートル、堤頂の長さ8300メートルの多目的ダムで、最大960万キロワットの発電を行う。人造湖であるカインジ湖とその周辺部にはカバ、ハイエナ、イボイノシシなどの野生動物が生息し、国立公園に指定されている。
