Gamma secretase 【γ secretase】 Proteolytic enzyme secretase. It breaks amyloid precursor protein (APP) cleaved by beta secretase at the cell membrane penetrating site and produces amyloid β, which is a causative substance of Alzheimer 's type dementia. It is also involved in the cleavage of the Notch receptor, which plays an important role in the development of organisms and differentiation of cells. ガンマ‐セクレターゼ【γセクレターゼ】 たんぱく質分解酵素セクレターゼの一つ。βセクレターゼによって切断されたアミロイド前駆体蛋白質(APP)を細胞膜貫通部位で切断し、アルツハイマー型認知症の原因物質とされるアミロイドβを産生する。また、生物の発生や細胞の分化に重要な役割を果たすNotch受容体の切断にも関与している。
