Kitchener Toru [Kitchener Island] "Kitchener's Island" An island in the Nile River flowing through Aswan in the southern part of Egypt. Located north of Elephantine Island. The name comes from the British soldier Horatio = Kitchener who lived in the same island during the British rule, creating a botanical garden of tropical plants. キッチナー‐とう【キッチナー島】 《Kitchener's Island》エジプト南部の都市アスワンを流れるナイル川の中にある島。エレファンティネ島の北に位置する。名称は英国支配時代に英国軍人ホレイショ=キッチナーが同島に居住し、熱帯植物の植物園をつくったことに由来する。
