Gotha
Gotha (Gotha) is a city of the Federal Republic of Germany, the county seat of Gotha County, Thuringia. Population 46,497 (2006). History is an old town dating back to at least the 8th century, became the capital of the Duchy of Saxony-Gotha in the 17th century and flourished as the capital of the Saxony-Coburg-Gotha capital with Coburg in the 19th century. Voltaire stayed in the 18th century and became the center of the Enlightenment in Germany. From the Saxony-Coburg-Gotha family there are current royalty in Belgium and the United Kingdom (Sachs-Koberg-Gotha morning), as well as the former Portuguese and royal family of Bulgaria.
