Stari Grad 【Stari Grad】 Southern Croatia, the town of Hvar in the Adriatic Sea. Located on the northeast coast of the island. It means "old town" in Croatian, it is known for having the oldest village in the Adriatic Sea. In addition to the dwellings of the Illyrians and the ancient Greeks, historic buildings remain, including the Tobullari Castle built by Petro-Hectrovic of the 16th century poet. In 2008, it was registered as a World Heritage (cultural heritage) under the name "Stari Grad plain". スタリ‐グラード【Stari Grad】 クロアチア南部、アドリア海に浮かぶフバル島の町。同島北東岸に位置する。クロアチア語で「古い町」を意味し、アドリア海最古の集落があったことで知られる。イリュリア人や古代ギリシャ人の住居跡のほか、16世紀の詩人ペトロ=ヘクトロビッチが建てたトブルダリ城をはじめ、歴史的建造物が残っている。2008年、「スタリグラード平原」の名称で世界遺産(文化遺産)に登録された。
