Thaler (currency)
Thaler (with Thaler, Taler) is a large silver coin used in Europe for centuries since the 16th century. That remnant remains in the currency names such as the US dollar and other dollar, and the trader (tolar) used in Slovenia until 2007. The etymology of Thaler (Tharlle) is the shortened name of the silver coin named "Joachimsthaler".
