The normal value of a healthy adult of alpha-1-antitrypsin serum α1-antitrypsin (α-1AT) is about 200 mg / dl and its main function is to inhibit the action of proteases such as trypsin and plasmin. Thus, α-1AT has the function of preventing digestion of tissues such as lungs by enzymes. Like α-1AT, α-1AT is an acute protein and abnormally elevated in inflammatory diseases and cancer. Congenital alpha-1AT deficiency is likely to entail a high degree of emphysema in young people. It is also found in childhood cirrhosis and neonatal hepatitis. 알파-1-앤트립신 혈청 α1-antitrypsin(α-1AT)의 건강성인의 정상치는 약 200mg/dl이고 그 주요기능은 트립신, 플라스민 등의 단백분해효소의 작용을 저해하는 것이다. 따라서 α-1AT는 폐등의 조직이 효소에 의해서 소화되는 것을 막는 작용을 지니고 있는 것이다. α-1AT는 CRP 등과 마찬가지로 급성단백의 일종이고 염증성질환이나 암등에서 이상 상승한다. 선천성으로 일으키는 α-1AT결핍증은 젊은이에게 고도의 폐기종을 수반하기 쉽다. 또 소아간경변, 신생아간염 등에 있어서도 발견된다.
