It is a deciduous broad-leaved arboreous tree of Chinese origin. Leaf is alternate and distorted triangular ovate, 5-10㎝ long, 4-8㎝ wide. There is no hair on the front side of the leaf, and the back side is white with the leaf stalk, and the white hair is densely grown. There are sharp serrations on the edges of the leaves. Flowers bloom in light yellow in June-July. It has five calyx pieces and petals, many stamens and one pistil, five stamens, and a large eggplant. The nucleus is round, 7-8㎜ in length, with five ridges on the bottom, and brown stamens on the surface. It is usually called bori-su, but it is called bori-shi to avoid confusion with the native bori-ri. The fruit is a round shape and is called barley, which is the material of the rosary.
