Fecal Enzyme Assay Fecalin contains enzymes such as trypsin, amylase, and lipase, but it is defective when the pancreas (pancreas function) is severely impaired. Measurement of enzymes in feces is not practiced clinically, but Schwachman's gelatin film method is abbreviated with regard to the quantitative method of trypsin. The feces solution is gradually diluted and one drop of the solution is placed on the gelatin surface of the X-ray film, and the trypsin activity is measured by the dissolution state of the gelatin after a certain period of time. The normal side is also positive at 100 to 200 times dilution. 분변효소정량법 분변 중에는 트립신, 아밀라제, 리파제 등 효소가 함유되어 있으나 췌기능(膵機能)이 심하게 장애되면 결여된다. 분변중 효소의 측정은 임상적으로는 그다지 실시되고 있지 않으나 트립신의 정량법(定量法)에 관해서 Schwachman의 젤라틴필름법을 약기(略記)한다. 분변용액을 점차 희석하고 그 용액의 각 1방울을 X-선필름의 젤라틴면에 얹어 일정시간 후의 젤라틴의 용해상태에 의해 트립신활성을 측정한다. 정상변은 100~200배 희석액에서도 양성이다.
