Molecular evolution
Molecular evolution is a process of evolution at the level of RNA, DNA, and protein formation. In the 1960s, interdisciplinary studies of molecular biology, evolutionary biology, and population genetics began to discover and understand the function and structure of nucleic acids and proteins. Molecular evolutionary studies have attempted to classify genes based on genes, introducing the concept of "molecular clock", and revealing the origin of unencoded DNA.
