Spinal cord compression syndrome refers to the case of degeneration of spinal cord plexus due to compression from around the spinal cord. Usually refers to a lesion that has been caused by a tumor, a cholestatic stenosis (spinal canal stenosis), a spinal column caries, or the like. Pain and crustal anomalies are often seen as the first manifestations and gradually manifest as hard paralysis (cramps paralysis). In this case, there is a passage of the spinal fluid at the compression site, and changes in the spinal fluid such as Queckenstedt's sign, Nonne-Froin's spinal cord compression symptoms. Treatment is depressurisation and laminectomy is performed. 척수압박증후군 척수주위로부터의 압박에 의하여 척수실질(脊髓実質)에 변성을 일으킨 경우를 말한다. 통상, 종양, 척주관협착(脊柱管狭窄), 척주카리에스 등에 의하여 만성으로 생기게 된 것을 가리킨다. 통증, 지각이상을 초발(初發)로 하여, 서서히 경성마비(痙性痲痺)를 나타내는 경우가 많다. 이와같은 경우, 압박부위에서 척수액의 통과장애가 있고, Queckenstedt's sign, Nonne-Froin의 척수압박증후 등 척수액에 변화가 생긴다. 치료는 제압(除壓)으로 추궁절제술(椎弓切除術)이 행하여진다.
