Independent Association
The Independent Association is a civil society organization of Korea and the Korean Empire established on July 2, 1896. In the early days, it started in the form of a social club and developed into a people's enlightenment group, a modern political group, and a modern party. In 1897, in honor of the independence from the Qing Dynasty in Seodaemun-gu, he broke off Young Eun Moon and built the Independence Gate. Seo Jae-pil, who launched the independent newspaper on April 7, 1896, insisted that the people themselves claim human rights and suffrage on July 2, and on July 2 of that year, they insisted on independence and self- He founded the association. As the number of independent associations increased, people from all walks of life participated in the association. They organized and sponsored the association to teach discussion and compromise. In November 1896, he destroyed Young Eun Moon and established the Independence Gate, and renamed it as a separate hall. Since 1897, it has opened a joint community of people from all walks of life in Jongno to raise patriotism.
