Black darkening is common after 40 years of age and frequently occurs in exposed areas such as the face and neck. It begins with a small dark brown pigment and grows irregularly. The hue is uneven. Histologically, malignant melanoma occurs when proliferating dendritic cells in the epidermis and invasion into the dermis. Signs of melanoma development include the occurrence of nodules within the pigment layer, rapid enlargement, and increased color tone. 흑색암전구증 40세이후에 많고 안면, 경부등의 노광부위(露光部位)에 자주 발병한다. 작은 암갈색 색소반으로 시작해서 차츰 불규칙으로 확대한다. 색조도 고르지 않다. 조직학적으로는 표피내에서의 이형 흑세포가 증식하고 진피내에 침입하면 악성흑색종이 된다. 흑색종 발생의 징후로서는 색소반 내에서의 결절의 발생, 급속한 확대, 색조의 증가등을 들 수 있다.
