Hurkania
Hirkania is an ancient kingdom located in the territory of the southern Caspian Sea, including parts of Iran, Golestan, Masjidan, Gilan and Turkmenistan. Hirkania was recorded in Greek history, the Greek name borrowing the meaning of ancient Persian Vercana. Verka means a wolf, and consequently, it means the land of wolves. For the Greeks, the Caspian Sea was the Hurkania Sea, and in the Middle Ages was the Sea of Mazandar. The Persians consider it the place where the greatest Shin Ahura Mazda created humanity. To the northeast, Hirkania is a step in Central Asia, where nomadic tribes have lived there for centuries. Hirkania was incorporated as part of the Persian Empire by Cyrus the Great or Cambethes. Under the Achaemenian dynasty it seemed to be operating in the lower part of Parthia. After Cambisses, Margiana, the chancellor, Gaumata, was not part of the Achaemeness, but took the throne.
