Thymus enlargement The thymus is the largest at birth, compared to the size of the body, and reaches its peak during childhood through puberty. After that, it is natural regrowth with age. In the case of thymic lymphatics, it is possible to see a large thymus that has not contracted. Thymic hypertrophy also occurs in diseases with immunosuppression such as myasthenia gravis, lupus erythematosus, Hashimoto disease, and mastitis. 흉선비대 흉선은 출생시에는 몸의 크기에 비해서 가장크고, 소아기부터 사춘기에 걸친 시기에 최대가 된다. 그 뒤로는 연령과 함께 자연퇴축한다. 흉선림프체질인 경우 퇴축하지 않은 큰 흉선을 볼 수 있다고 한다. 그밖에 중증근무력증, 홍반성 낭창, 하시모토병(橋本病), 만선신염 등, 면역부전을 수반하는 질환에서도 흉선비대가 나타난다.
