Purple Face Langur
Purple-faced Rangur or mauve-face ape is a kind of old-world monkey that lives in Sri Lanka. They are long-tailed, tree-like animals that live on trees. They are mostly brown-brown, with a darker color around their eyes, while the lower face is slightly pale. Because we cry loudly, we can mistake it as a roar of a beast, especially a highland species, leopard. It was once a common species in the villages near Colombo and wetlands, but it is in danger of extinction due to rapid urbanization. They are known to be very shaded, and their distribution is greatly reduced as humans dwindle their habitat, but nevertheless, in the mountainous areas of Horton Plains National Park, Can still be seen. There are four subspecies.
