When the thumb is bent toward the foot with the same stimulus, the lesion is diagnosed as Babinsky reflection. 족저반사 족저(足低)의 외연(外緣)을 앞끝이 그다지 뾰족하지 않는 침(針)으로 발뒤꿈치에서 전방(前方)으로 조용히 적당하게 힘을 넣어 문지르면, 정상에서는 족지(足趾)가 족저측(足底側)으로 구부러진다. 이것을 족저반사(足低反射)라고 한다. 이 반사가 한 쪽에서 결여(缺如)되는 경우에는 추체로장애(錐體路障害)가 생각된다. 똑같은 자극으로 엄지손가락이 족배(足背)로 향하여 굴곡하는 경우에는 병적으로 바빈스키반사양성으로 한다.
