Yakovis captain
Yakovis Cornelius Wiskopaptin is a Dutch astronomer. I made a list of 544,875 stars in the Southern Hemisphere. This is still used as a "Cape Photograph" in the study of stars in the Southern Hemisphere. Captainne laid the foundation for the statistical study of stars by counting the stars in a narrow area. In addition, by measuring the motion of the stars, we found that the movement of individual stars about the mean motion of the surrounding stars appears to be clustered in one direction. Captain was born in Barnertfeld, The Netherlands, between Helit Kaptain and Elizabeth Cumans. In 1868 he entered the University of Utrecht and studied mathematics and physics. He finished his graduation thesis in 1875 and worked at the Leiden Observatory for three years. He then became professor of astronomy and theoretical mechanics at Groningen University and worked there until his retirement in 1921.
