Light staining is most commonly used in the United States as an improved method of Wright-designed Romanowsky staining in 1902. Sodium bicarbonate was added to the methylene blue to make methylene azure, and the mixture was stained with a methanol rack of powder (Wright powder) added with ezogen. Some of them are commercialized. This method can be fixed (fixed) and stained at the same time with the same liquid, which is simple and can be performed in a short time. The granules are well stained and the staining of the nuclei is slightly off but sufficient for observation. The nucleus of leukocyte is purple blue. It shows dark purple color. 라이트염색법 1902년에 Wright에 의하여 고안된 Romanowsky 염색법의 개량법으로서 미국에서 가장 흔히 사용되고 있다. 메틸렌블루에 중탄산나트륨을 가해 가온하여 메틸렌아주르를 만들고, 여기에 에오진을 가한 분말(Wright 분말)의 메탄올랙을 사용해서 염색한다. 제품화된 것이 있다. 이 방법은 동일액으로써 동시에 고정(固定)과 염색을 할 수 있어 간편하며 단시간에 실시할 수 있다. 과립(顆粒)은 잘 염색되고 핵의 염색은 약간 떨어지지만 관찰에는 충분하다. 백혈구의 핵은 자청색(紫青色), 중성호성과립(中性好性顆粒)은 자홍색(紫紅色), 호산성과립(好酸性顆粒)은 적색, 호염기성과립(好鹽基性顆粒)은 농자색(濃紫色)을 나타낸다.
