Parthen
Pathein or Bassein is the capital of Myanmar, the capital city of Ayeyarwady. The population of 2004 is estimated at 215,600. It is situated on the west coast of the Irrawaddy River, the Patean River. Parthen was once part of the monarchy kingdom, but today the number of mon monotheists is small. The majority of residents are Burmese, Indians, and Kain.
