The height is 51 cm for male, 49 cm for female, and the whole body is covered with long hair. The eyes are hidden from the hair and are invisible. The ears were laid down, and the muzzle was relatively stubborn, not pointed like the Jindo dog. The tail is lifted up and the head is big, so it looks like a lion. Personality is bold, brave, loyal to the owner. The name, "Daegu," which means "a dog who pursues a ghost and a loaf," is a pure Korean name, and often appears in the lyrics, folk songs, and paintings. During the Silla era, it was known that the common people grew up when the unified Silla was destroyed after being brought up in the aristocratic society. Since the 1940s, when Japanese colonial rule was in effect, the number of slaughtering dogs, which were common in every neighborhood, was reduced to an extinction crisis as Japan used dogs as a leather supply source for war and killed a large number of them.
