Sichuan Airport
Sacheon Airport is an airport in Sacheon-eup, Sacheon City, South Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. It is also called Jinju Airport because it is close to Jinju city. It was the main deployment base of the ROKA during the Korean War. In 1969, the airline opened the air route to Sacheon Airfield. In 2000, the number of passengers reached 880,000, but as the Daejeon-Jinju highway opened on November 29, 2001, the number of passengers dropped sharply. In 2009, the number of passengers dropped to 200,000 in 2009 and to 138,000 in 2012. Recently, international flights are being reviewed to activate the airport, and the Gyeongsangnam-do Parliament is arguing that Sacheon Airport should be developed as a specialized airport in the southern region.
