Definition of 센트루이스뇌염 in the Korean dictionary
It is one of the primary causes of viral encephalitis, and it was named in 1933, mainly in the city of St. Louis, Missouri, USA. It is similar to Japanese encephalitis in Group B type albovirus infection. Viruses can not be found in blood or liquid, and the diagnosis is done serologically. Approximately 10% to 25% of acute encephalitis patients die before and after the 10th day in adults. 센트루이스뇌염 원발성바이러스성뇌염의 하나로, 1933년 미국의 미주리주 센트루이스시를 중심으로 유행하였음으로 이 이름이 있다. 그룹 B형알보바이러스감염증으로 일본뇌염과 비슷하다. 혈액이나 수액에서 바이러스를 발견할 수 없고, 진단은 혈청학적으로 행한다. 성인에서는 급성뇌염발현자의 약 10~25%가 제10병일전후에 사망한다.
